Requirements

  • Our client is seeking an experienced School Bursar to join their administrative leadership team.
  • As the School Bursar, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations and accounting functions of the school.
  • This includes overseeing accounts receivable and payable, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
  • The Bursar serves as a key member of the school’s administrative leadership team and works closely with the Principal, Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all school financial accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and cash flow
  • Oversee the accounting and bookkeeping for the school, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for the Principal and Board of Trustees
  • Develop and manage the school’s annual operating budget in collaboration with the Principal and other administrators
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, tax requirements, and accounting standards
  • Manage the school’s banking relationships and investment portfolio
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
  • Supervise the school’s finance and accounting staff
  • Serve as a key point of contact for parents, vendors, and other external stakeholders on financial matters
  • Participate in the development and implementation of school policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a school bursar or in a similar senior-level financial management role
  • Strong knowledge of school finance, accounting, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in financial software, spreadsheets, and other relevant technology
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the school

Salary
N100,000 – N150,000 monthly.
