Requirements
- Our client is seeking an experienced School Bursar to join their administrative leadership team.
- As the School Bursar, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations and accounting functions of the school.
- This includes overseeing accounts receivable and payable, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
- The Bursar serves as a key member of the school’s administrative leadership team and works closely with the Principal, Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all school financial accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and cash flow
- Oversee the accounting and bookkeeping for the school, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for the Principal and Board of Trustees
- Develop and manage the school’s annual operating budget in collaboration with the Principal and other administrators
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, tax requirements, and accounting standards
- Manage the school’s banking relationships and investment portfolio
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
- Supervise the school’s finance and accounting staff
- Serve as a key point of contact for parents, vendors, and other external stakeholders on financial matters
- Participate in the development and implementation of school policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience as a school bursar or in a similar senior-level financial management role
- Strong knowledge of school finance, accounting, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in financial software, spreadsheets, and other relevant technology
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Commitment to the mission and values of the school
Salary
N100,000 – N150,000 monthly.
