Job Description
- As the Research and Policy Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our research and advocacy efforts. Your work will be instrumental in influencing policy, guiding program development, and amplifying our impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall work of policy design, review, adoption, and implementation strategies in higher education institutions.
- Develop high-quality evidence-based analysis, position papers, and policy briefings.
- Shape the policy agenda and contribute to the design of the organisation’s strategic goals on policy and advocacy development.
- Develop policy position papers, briefs, and factsheets related to ending gender inequalities and sexual harassment in higher education institutions.
- Conduct research, analyze, and make evidence-based recommendations on policies linked to sexual harassment; implement and participate in advocacy efforts and campaigns aimed at adopting policies and laws that challenge gender-related norms and behaviors.
- Build the internal capacity of the organisation on research.
- Provide technical support to tertiary institutions on anti-sexual harassment policy framework design.
- Track and monitor the effective implementation of institutions’ anti-sexual harassment policies.
- Plan and organise formal and non-formal events, conferences, and conversations to promote the adoption of model policies.
- Write research and program proposals.
- Work collaboratively with the programs unit and product manager to coordinate advocacy and drive the adoption of survivor-centered reporting mechanisms in tertiary institutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in research, policy analysis, or a related role.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences / Law / Gender Studies / Public Policy / Human Rights / International Development / Public Health or a related discipline
- Proven track record in developing and advocating for policy initiatives.
- Experience in managing research projects and teams.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in statistical software and data analysis tools.
- Ability to translate complex research findings into clear, actionable recommendations.

Salary
N155,000 monthly
Benefits:
