Job Title: Quality Control Engineer

Job Summary

  • The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of products manufactured in the plant, overseeing processes, and managing parts quality.
  • The role involves developing and implementing quality procedures and systems, tracking defects, analyzing trends, and ensuring that only fully compliant products are shipped to customers.
  • The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in quality assurance within the automobile or ancillary industries.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Procedures and Systems: Develop and implement quality procedures and systems across the entire production value chain.
  • Standards Development: Establish standards to meet quality requirements at each step of the assembly process.
  • Quality Communication and Tracking: Create and maintain a system for effective quality communication and tracking.
  • Torque and Audit Systems: Develop standard torque lists, conduct torque audits, and monitor CP and CPK.
  • Line Quality Standards: Define and enforce quality standards for production lines.
  • PDI Quality Standards: Set quality standards for the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) area.
  • Training: Provide training for quality inspectors and operators at quality-critical stations.
  • Incoming Quality Inspection: Develop processes for inspecting incoming materials.
  • In-Process Inspection: Define standards for in-process inspections.
  • Critical to Quality Stations (CTQ): Identify and manage critical to quality stations.
  • RFT Monitoring: Control and monitor Right First Time (RFT) metrics.
  • Defect Trend Monitoring: Track and analyze daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly defect trends.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analyses, implement corrective actions, and verify their effectiveness.
  • PDCA Implementation: Check the effectiveness of corrective actions through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle.
  • IRU Claims: Maintain records of Internal Reject Units (IRU) claims and develop corrective actions to control them.
  • Quality Kaizen & TPM: Implement quality improvements (kaizen) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies.
  • Poka Yoke Development: Develop error-proofing (poka yoke) solutions for critical quality stations.

Qualifications
Education:

  • Diploma or BE in Production, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

  • Diploma: 5 – 7+ years of experience in quality assurance.
  • BE 3 – 4+ years of experience in quality assurance.

Industry Experience:

  • Preferred experience in the automobile industry or ancillary and vendor units.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Proficient in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement quality procedures and systems.
  • Strong analytical skills for tracking defects and trends.
  • Familiarity with kaizen, TPM methodologies, and poka yoke development.

 Salary
N350,000 Monthly.
