Job Title: Power Plant Operator

Location: Lokoja, Kogi
Employment Type: Full Time

Responsibilities

  • Control and operate boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment to generate electric power
  • Monitor equipment to ensure proper operation, and make adjustments as needed
  • Record and analyze readings from equipment, and report any abnormalities or concerns to supervisors
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including cleaning and lubricating machinery, and replacing defective parts
  • Adhere to safety procedures and regulations, and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Communicate with other operators and engineers to coordinate activities and troubleshoot problems
  • Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics to understand equipment and diagnose problems
  • Operate equipment remotely using computerized systems
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of equipment performance, maintenance, and repairs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years as power plant operator.
  • Technical training in power plant operations, electrical systems, or related field
  • Ability to handlethe operations of Power plants and ready to work on 12 hrs shift.
  • Familiar with Gas Genset operations.
  • Previous experience as a power plant operator, or in a related field such as electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, as well as computerized control systems
  • Understanding of safety regulations and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and be available for emergency response.

Salary
N200,000 monthly.
