Job Purpose
- The Assistant Shop Manager work closely with the Shop Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, provide exceptional customer service, and maintain high standards of food quality and cleanliness.
- The assistant manager plays a vital role in leading and motivating the team, while also managing various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Implement strategies to increase sales and profitability.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify areas for improvement and implement innovative strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the production staff to ensure timely and accurate food and baked product preparation, monitor food presentation, and address any issues or concerns related to food quality or customer satisfaction.
- Implement and enforce Shop policies and procedures, including dress code, employee conduct, and operational guidelines.
- Handle cash transactions, manage financial processes, and maintain accurate records of sales, expenses, and inventory.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop, including shelf areas, dinning areas and restrooms to create a safe and welcoming environment for both staff and customers.
- Maintain high standards of food quality and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by training and coaching staff on proper service techniques, resolving customer complaints, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Assist in scheduling staff shifts.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the restaurant industry.
- Familiarity with local health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.

- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting, inventory management, and food quality control.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and adapt to changing schedules and demands.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the restaurant industry.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Salary
N180,000 – N250,000 monthly.
