With support and input from varied stakeholders, STEM Hub for Empowerment of young women (S.H.E) project’s new and innovative approach is designed to encourage the increased participation of adolescent girls and young women in the traditional male spaces of technology, digital skills, and financial literacy. Located in Ikeja, Lagos, the state-of-the-art STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Hub started operations for vulnerable adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) between the ages of 16 and 24 years. They will have the opportunity to participate in youth-friendly training at no cost, following a standardized curriculum with a focus on obtaining standard and globally accredited certifications.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Lead Instructor to join our dynamic team and lead our comprehensive Web Development program.
- The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of web technologies, a proven track record in teaching, and a passion for guiding students through the intricacies of modern web development.
Responsibilities
- Module Development: Design and develop curriculum content for each module, ensuring it aligns with industry best practices and the latest advancements in web development.
- Instructional Delivery: Conduct engaging and effective classroom and/or online instruction, delivering complex concepts in an accessible manner. Foster an inclusive and collaborative learning environment.
- Student Guidance and Mentoring: Provide mentorship and guidance to students, offering support for their projects and helping them develop a strong foundation in web development.
- Hands-On Labs: Organize and facilitate hands-on labs, coding exercises, and projects to reinforce theoretical concepts and enhance practical skills.
- Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and track their progress throughout the course. Implement assessments to measure comprehension and mastery of skills.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and changes in web development standards. Integrate relevant updates into the curriculum.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the assistant instructor and other team members to enhance the overall learning experience. Collaborate with industry professionals for guest lectures and workshops.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field
- Proven experience as a Web Development Instructor or similar role.
- Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and WordPress.
- Strong understanding of web development tools, browsers, and standards.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Patient and supportive approach to teaching and mentoring students.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Familiarity with hosting providers, domain management, and deploying websites.
- Knowledge of any of React, Angular, Vue is an added advantage
