Account Assistant at the Bible Society of Nigeria

The Bible Society of Nigeria is a member of the United Bible Societies (UBS), a global fellowship of Non-Denominational Christian organization whose primary mission involves translation of the Holy Scriptures into languages people can easily read and understand as well as production and distribution of the Scriptures to meet the different needs of everyone. It also organizes programmes for engagement with the scriptures and raises funds for these activities.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Account Assistant

Location: Mainland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Personnel Responsibilities
The successful candidate will, among others, do the following:

  • Petty cash and cash float maintenance.
  • Creation of payment vouchers and checks.
  • Posting payment vouchers, bank deposit tellers, salary journals, and cash retirement journals.
  • Monthly preparation of bank account reconciliation statements.
  • Reconciliation of account receivables, payables, and statutory deductions.
  • Reconciliation of staff loans and advances for all types of advances available in the organization and confirmation of bank lodgments.
  • Preparation of the income and expenditure report.
  • Any other job assigned and compliance with deadlines are very important aspects of your job.

Personnel Specification

  • The candidate must have an OND in Accounting or an AAT with a minimum of one (1) year experience.
  • Should be able to think analytically and receptively, as well as communicate effectively and interpersonally.
  • The ability to use the Sage 50 Accounting package will be advantageous.
