Job Summary
- The Assistant Cosmetics Formulator is responsible for identifying and developing innovative technology to create natural skincare projects for new launches, line extensions, and product renovation.
Responsibilities
- Researching materials used in cosmetics, such as botanicals, preservatives, fragrance ingredients, emulsifiers, surfactants, and emollients
- Conducting testing of new formulas to ensure safety and effectiveness
- Mixing ingredients according to formulas and creating blends of colors to achieve desired effects
- Creating formulas for hair care products such as shampoo, conditioner, and styling gel
- Formulating products for the lips and nails, such as lip balm and nail polish
- Testing products for compatibility with machinery used in manufacturing and shelf-life stability
- Develops and performs all formulation requirements on new formulas; includes the creation of skincare, cosmetics formulation, mix development, product description/ formulation sheet, lab tests, stability testing/ monitoring, color verification, etc.
Requirements
- B.Sc. / HND in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science or related field
- Minimum of 3 years working experience and exposure with mass production
- Familiarity with cosmetics, cosmetic formulations, filling, labeling, etc.
- Hands on experience and exposure in cosmetics formulation.
- Proximity to the Island is very important.
Salary
N150,000 – N250,000 monthly.
