- This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient sourcing of pharmaceutical products and supplies, fostering strong supplier relationships, and optimizing procurement processes to support our mission of providing accessible healthcare to all.
Role Overview
- As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement, vendor management, and supply chain operations.
- You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Business, Operations, and Finance, to establish strategic sourcing plans, negotiate contracts, and optimize procurement strategies. Your expertise in supply chain management and supplier relationship building will be pivotal in maintaining a steady supply of high-quality pharmaceutical products to meet customer demand while maintaining cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business goals and support the organization mission. Identify reliable sources for pharmaceutical products, medical supplies, and services to ensure a robust supply chain.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure advantageous agreements for the company.
- Supplier Evaluation: Evaluate supplier performance regularly, including quality, reliability, and compliance with contractual agreements. Take proactive measures to address any performance issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Procurement Processes: Streamline procurement processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices and standardized procedures to optimize procurement operations.
- Cost Management: Monitor procurement costs and budgetary adherence. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service levels.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to ensure that all pharmaceutical products and medical supplies meet regulatory and quality standards.
- Risk Management: Mitigate procurement risks by proactively identifying potential supply chain disruptions and developing contingency plans.
- Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and changes in pharmaceutical regulations. Utilize this information to inform procurement decisions and identify opportunities for innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proven experience (2 years+) as a Procurement Manager or in a similar procurement leadership role, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, supply chain management, and vendor/supplier management. Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost efficiencies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to interact effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulations, quality assurance, and compliance requirements is advantageous. Strong project management skills to manage multiple procurement initiatives simultaneously.
Salary
N250,000 – N350,000 monthly.
