Job Summary

  • Manage and maintain accounting records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and other financial data. Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts regularly.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to provide insights and recommendations to the Finance/Account Manager.

Work Duties / Responsibilities

  • Preparation, processing, and maintenance of financial records, invoices, and documents.
  • Enter and reconcile financial transactions, such as invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries, in accounting software or spreadsheets.
  • Verify and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.
  • Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, and other financial documents for approval and payment.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices, payments, and receivables, communicating with customers and vendors as needed.
  • Bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and petty cash handling, ensuring proper documentation and recording of transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and files, organizing documents and data for easy retrieval and reference.
  • Month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of financial statements, schedules, and reports.
  • Budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial forecasting, providing support to finance managers as needed.
  • Support internal and external audits, providing documentation, explanations, and assistance to auditors as required.
  • Financial analysis, reporting, and presentation of financial data, trends, and insights to support decision-making.
  • Perform other administrative tasks and special projects assigned by the finance manager or supervisor to support departmental goals and objectives.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • HND / B.Sc in Accounting, Business or Finance. A Master’s Degree or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience.

  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time-management skills and able to handle pressure well
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office suite and financial accounting software
  • Deep understanding of tax regulations and reporting requirements
  • Strong quantitative and analytical ability
  • Critical thinker and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

Budget

  • The budget range for the role is N120,000 – N150,000 monthly.
