African Youth for Peace Development and Empowerment Foundation, (AFRYDEV) is a youth led nongovernmental, non-profit and non-sectarian development organization established in 2013 with the mission to serve as a platform for enlightenment and empowerment of youth society for peace and development through active participation by mainstreaming their issues and concerns into national development agenda based on United Nation Sustainable Development Goals.

Job Title: Finance Officer
Location: Damaturu, Yobe
Employment Type: Contract (1 year)
Position Summary
- The Finance Officer will support in delivering Finance team objectives in a timely and accurate fashion.
- The Finance Officer is responsible for day-to-day implementation of financial processes; this includes cash management, paying invoice, monitoring budgets, developing financial forecasts, and creating financial reports.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain complete, accurate and timely financial records; prepares and submit monthly
- Maintain complete, accurate and timely financial records; prepares and submit monthly financial reports as directed by the Senior Finance Officer in timely manner; and supporting documents are filed appropriately in hard and soft copies;
- Maintain and oversee internal controls; prepares estimates of monthly cash requirements and coordinate with the Senior Finance Officer treconciles monthly accounts and bank statements; submits receipts and invoices
- Receives all documents from the field offices.
- Review and register the completeness of documents received from the field and report on any omissions/missing documentation.
- Participate in regular meetings with field office staff tdiscuss financial items and support the team on the preparation of budgets, fund requests and follow up the settlements of funds transferred
- Oversee day-to-day financial management and accounting for (AFRYDEV) projects; maintains and manage financial accounts in coordination with the Executive Director’s instructions.
- Assist in establishing, maintaining, and updating organizational financial policies and procedures tguide the work of project staff and management
- Prepare and track project budgets and budget projections; reviews expense reports, vouchers and payment requests, including proper back-up documentation tensure compliance with established AFRYDEV systems and donor’s requirements
- Maintain a schedule of recurrent expenditure for Office utilities such as Electricity Bills, Water Bills, Internet Bills, and Security, Cleaning services tensure that they are all paid and accrued on a timely basis.
- Timely preparation of statutory deduction payments.
- Preparation of withholding tax payments.

- Strong computer skills in MS Office programs
Qualification and Skills
- Degree, HND in a relevant field
- 3 Previous experiences in a similar position with nonprofit organization is highly desirable
- 2 Years in similar position is desirable
- Proven intellectual capacity and willingness tlearn
- Ability twork under pressure, with little or nsupervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, as well as knowledge of Hausa.
Salary
N200,000 – N300,000 per month.
