Summary
- The Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dining area, ensuring a seamless and high-quality guest experience.
- This role involves managing staff, maintaining service standards, monitoring stock levels, and addressing any issues that arise during service hours.
- The Floor Manager works closely with the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient and coordinated service.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Management:
- Supervise and manage the front-of-house staff, including hosts, servers, bussers, and bartenders.
- Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels to meet business needs.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing training and development for existing staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Customer Service:
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and concerns promptly.
- Interact with guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Monitor and respond to online reviews and feedback.
Operations Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the dining area, ensuring smooth service.
- Coordinate with the kitchen to manage the flow of orders and maintain service standards.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to communicate important information to the team.
- Check stock levels of front-of-house supplies (e.g., napkins, utensils, condiments) and coordinate with the kitchen to ensure necessary inventory is maintained.
- Assist with inventory management, including conducting regular stock checks and updating inventory records.
Financial Management:
- Monitor and manage labor costs and other expenses to stay within budget.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
- Track and report on sales and performance metrics.
- Implement strategies to increase revenue and improve profitability.
Maintenance and Cleanliness:
- Ensure that the dining area is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to address any issues with equipment or facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Event Coordination:
- Assist with planning and executing events and private parties.
- Coordinate with event planners and clients to ensure a successful event.
- Manage staff and resources during events to ensure smooth operation.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in the hospitality industry.
- Proven experience in a high-volume restaurant environment.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle difficult situations and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in restaurant management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
- This position operates in a restaurant environment, including the dining area and kitchen.
- The role requires evening, weekend, and holiday work as needed.
- The Floor Manager may be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, loud noise, and potentially hazardous equipment.
Compensation
- Salary: N200,000 Monthly.
