Purpose of Activity / Assignment

  • The purpose of this consultancy is to support the demand for engaging young people to connect them with skilling and economic opportunities while amplifying their voices on critical issues.
  • This consulting assignment is integral to GenU 9JA’s flagship programming initiatives, including U-Report, Yoma, Unilever FUCAP (Future Unilever Campus Ambassador Programme), and Passport to Earning (P2E), among others.
  • The consultant will work towards promoting civic leadership, volunteering, and youth-led action to empower young people across Nigeria.
  • The consultancy role will contribute to the achievement of UNICEF’s Nigeria Country Office’s digital ecosystem and digital innovation for UNICEF programming.

Scope of Work
The Consultant will be directly supervised by the Program Specialist (GenU 9JA) and will work closely with the Chief of GenU 9JA. The key areas of work include:

  • Program coordination and implementation of GenU 9JA initiatives
  • Support to GenU 9JA Secretariat.
  • Knowledge management and monitoring
  • Advocacy, Partnerships, and Communications
  • Youth engagement

Work Assignments Overview:
Program Coordination and Implementation – Quarter 1:

  • 75,000 new registrations (new youth IDs created) on YOMA (Youth Opportunities Marketplace Agency)
  • 50,000 young people impacted by the FUCAP skilling program
  • 5 UNICEF-Unilever FUCAP career seminars conducted in Universities across Nigeria

Program Coordination and Implementation – Quarter 2:

  • 75,000 new registrations (new youth IDs created) on YOMA (Youth Opportunities Marketplace Agency)
  • 50,000 young people impacted by the FUCAP skilling program
  • 5 UNICEF-Unilever FUCAP career seminars conducted in Universities across Nigeria

Requirements
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

  • A master’s degree in education, skills development (both digital and non-digital), adolescent/youth development, and engagement.
  • 4 years of experience at national and/or international levels in programme/project planning and implementation, with a particular emphasis on youth programs
  • Experience in education, skills development (both digital and non-digital), adolescent/youth development, and engagement preferred.
  • Proficiency in using spreadsheets and preparing PowerPoint presentations.
