Remote Talent Coordinator at Float

Who We Are

Float is the world’s leading software for teams to plan their time. Launched in 2012, we’ve grown every year since, and remain proudly independent, self-funded and profitable. We’re a team of 50 working 100% remotely and you’ll be partnering with team members based globally including Australia, Mexico, Nigeria, Canada, and the USA. Hear what our team has to say by browsing our blog, or reading our Glassdoor reviews. Check out what our customers think of Float from our G2 reviews.

We’re on a scale up journey, and we’re seeking people who thrive in this stage, given the autonomy, and the opportunity, to do the best work of their career.

Why We’re Hiring For This Role

At Float, we’re building the resource planner that empowers teams to optimize how they plan project work. Our product not only simplifies project work but truly empowers teams to maximize their potential. Our Operations team aims to do the very same by supporting and growing our most important asset – our people.

As a fully remote team that spans the globe, each member brings a unique perspective and drive to our mission. Continuing on our scale up journey, we are looking for a Talent Coordinator to play a crucial role in how we attract, hire, and onboard new team members. Our commitment to fostering a ‘Best Work Life’ begins with hiring, and in this role, you’ll help us nail the important first impressions.

In close partnership with Julia, our Talent Manager, your mission will be to create an unparalleled journey for every candidate. From the initial reviews of applications through the logistics of onboarding, you will ensure every new team member feels fully supported, seamlessly integrated, and primed for success.

Your role will support setting the bar for both best-in-class candidate experience and workflows. With a keen eye for detail and unmatched task management skills, you’re not just filling positions; you’re supporting Float to strategically build teams whilst treating all candidates the highest respect and kindness.

You will work with a smart, dedicated team from across the globe asynchronously and will be hands-on with building a recognizable recruitment and onboarding process for a fully remote, growing team.

Our Director of Operations, Georgie, explains the important role you will play within our team. Watch the video.

You’ll be working asynchronously with a bright, dedicated team from across the globe, with a strong focus on taking complex problems and creating solutions that feel simple and intuitive for our customers.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As our Talent Coordinator, you’ll learn, support and improve our new team member experience.

Early on, you’ll jump right into:

  • Coordinating the pre-work that goes into opening a new role: We take this upfront work very seriously because having the hiring team on the same page and saving everyone’s time is a huge piece of a great candidate experience. This work ranges from supporting the opening and submission of job requisitions, managing job description templates, kicking off our Hell Yes! page for roles, and publishing the job descriptions on Workable.
  • Supporting the hiring team and candidates on live roles: Our hiring managers are very hands on in the hiring process. You’ll support them and the hiring team by reviewing applications, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and letting candidates know about next steps.
  • Move people from candidates to new team members: Sending someone a job offer can be life-changing! You will support that process by setting up offer letters, service agreements, reference checks, and background checks. The care and thought that goes into this process is critical to new team members feeling certain they made the right decision.
  • Setting new team members up for success: Coordinate onboarding by rallying the onboarding team (manager + onboarding buddy), completing new hire checklists to set up accounts and get intro meetings set up on the new team members calendar, and make sure the new team member knows what to expect on day 1 and beyond.

As you settle in, you’ll take on more projects like:

  • Full cycle recruiting: You’ll take on ownership of the entire lifecycle of new roles as well as improving our hiring process to ensure efficiency and exceptional candidate experience.
  • Partnering with Amber on People Ops activities: support internal processes like engagement surveys, and offboarding. We have a high standard of execution for these activities, and you’ll be crucial to our team’s smooth rollout and exceptional experience.
  • Assist in culture and engagement activities for the team: from larger scale gatherings like our annual team meetup (we’re heading to Italy in September!) to smaller quarterly and weekly activities to support the team in building relationships and community.
  • Contribute to the Best Work Life blog: Identify and pitch stories we should be telling on the Best Work Life blog about what it is like to work at Float and to highlight the expertise of our team.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

Your interest in Recruiting and People Ops as a career path and your deep desire to improve team operations will go a long way in this role.

Experience with the following will help set you up for success:

  • People Ops or Talent experience within a remote team, including direct experience with recruitment, candidate screening, and interviews
  • Project management and an ability to juggle multiple requests and open roles at one time
  • Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Software
  • Keen attention to detail in an async autonomous environment
  • Solid ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization from Engineers to Directors to CEO and CTO
  • An intrinsic motivation to seek feedback and learn new skills to continue to advance in the role

As a fully remote team, we’re looking for someone comfortable with asynchronous communication as the default, which means you have previous remote experience and are comfortable using tools like Slack, Loom, and Linear to communicate as needed. Don’t worry—you will have significant deep work time since we have very few meetings.

Why Join Us

We’re a global async remote company with a diverse team of people from all over the world who share a common belief in living our best work life. We believe deeply in the idea of transparency and share our Float Handbook publicly so potential new team members can see first hand our perks & benefits as well as our ways of working. If you feel like you can thrive at Float to do your best work, we would love to hear from you.

Pay for this role is US $97,063 (Level 2). Here’s a blog post with more information on how we determine our salaries.
